Note: I am not a big joke or prank guy so I don’t plan to ever joke or prank you guys with a silly April Fools joke like claiming that I grew 1-2 inches in the first month. That just doesn’t happen!

I had said in a post around the beginning of the last month in March entitled “It Is Official, I’m Going To Try To Grow Taller Myself, March 3rd” that I would try to take up exercising again to both try to gain any “hidden height” back which I might have lost in living such a sedentary life since I have been out of the country for the last 9 months.

I had made a vow with my gf that we would try to put ourselves through some type of exercise program to lose weight. We both noticed that we have been putting on the pounds for the last few months with our busy lives and hectic schedules. Or it could be that we are just too lazy to get fit.

So she is now walking much more to work these days (she takes the bus) and I have decided to try  getting back to swimming and stretching like I did years ago when I was trying to gain height. I guess I plan to try to loss weight, get healthy, and possibly also grow taller from my constant exercising and stretching.

She doesn’t realize that In addition to trying to lose weight and get fit, I am also slightly altering my exercise routine to focus more on stretching and decompressing my vertebrate for height increase reasons. She is around 5′ 2″ and has also expressed that she would love to be taller. At this point I haven’t told her that I write or operate this website yet. I am not sure how she would respond when she realizes that I run one of the largest websites on the internet which focus on this subject. Maybe she’ll think I am crazy.

So what is the update after almost 1 month?

Absolutely very little. I have been reducing my food intake, eating one or two small portions of food each day and have been going swimming every other day. I found my old tape measure and looked at whether I had shrunk or grown. It seems that at last measurement my height is about the same as the last time I intentionally really made an effort in measuring myself, which was over 2 years ago. So at least I haven’t shrunk, which is something I do worry about. Whew!

My schedule in flying so much this recent month and running errands and driving to so many places forced me to not have enough time to really do the exercises I was hoping for. By the end of next month however I should have a lot more time and consistency in my exercises and stretching though.

Of course these days I have hair now and I would prefer to measure with my hair on instead of being shaved like before. The hair thing will lead to quite a bit of measurement error. I would like to keep my hair but still get a very accurate reading. Do you guys think I should get a stadiometer for my room?

So I posted a video up of me talking at the Health Sciences Library at the University of Washington, which is the local university library since I am based from the beautiful city of Seattle.

Like I said before, I am going to take the research very seriously now and the only real way that I as a single researcher can make this research more legitimate is get off the scam and internet marketing websites from the internet and sit my ass down in a library and go do research the way my dad did it, by reading old stuffy medical journals and books.

As for my location, the only real good resource I can think of besides talking to a orthopaedic surgeon or endocrinologist is to go to a University with a Medical School which would also have a Medical School Library or Health & Medicine & Biology Library. Luckily, based in Seattle is the University of Washington and the University of Washington Medical School which has been ranked among the best National Hospitals and Medical Schools by US. Newsweek for at least the last few years. It may not be a John’s Hopkins or a Harvard or a Stanford in terms of prestige or name brand  but I believe it is still one of the best Medical Schools in the country

I am just showing you guys the types of books I am looking over these days. The thing I am looking for at this stage is to find any old, previously unknown articles which gives me more knowledge on how the growth plate in the postnatal human behaves.

At this point, I am doing more skimming at the sections and paragraphs because there is just so many books at the library I can go over. It will take me at least a couple of weeks to narrow down the types of subjects and books I want to really go deep on the details on.

The video is short and there is not a lot of content but you do see that I am doing some real research on the stuff and looking at the most relevant subjects.

These x-rays shown in the video were taken maybe 3 years ago when I went to visit my parents and complained about pain in my lower back, knees, and left hand. They decided to send me to the hospital for a complete X-ray on the areas. So I actually got the X-rays, each costing around $250 each, and got myself checked out. I did see an orthopedic surgeon or doctor and we talked about what the pain could be coming from.

The conclusion was that I had some type of bone protrusion on the area on the top of my tibia or patella. This means that there was some type of bone longitudinal growth pushing up on the femur. This is what could be considered real longitudinal bone growth if it did happen. So the doctor said it was a type of bone spur which I had been suffering from. Apparently these “bone spurs” have a medical term for them, osteophyte.

After the talk with the “medical professional” I was not given any type of advice on how to treat the joint or bone pain. No treatment was advised except maybe to sometimes take ibuprofen or a type of NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug).

After time passed the pain sort of disappeared and the bone issue was not brought up/ ONly recently did I find those old X-rays while I was packing and I thought it would be nice to show you guys that I do indeed have X-rays taken of parts of my limbs even from 3 years back which show that I don’t even have any type of epiphyseal growth plate ossification line any more. There is nothing there. Hope you guys stick around for tomorrow when I put up a video of the books and the intensive research I have been doing.

I had written long ago a post entitled “The Tallest Ethnic Group” about the fact that it seems that the tallest ethnicity or group of people seem to be coming from the Croatian-Serbian region of the world. It was well known even from the Wikipedia article on human height in the chart for country listings that people in the Dinaric Alps region of Eastern Europe were unusually tall.

However there have been one interesting link from WiseGeek I saw maybe years ago where suggested that the one area or region in croatia or serbia which have the height gene turned up to the max is a county in Croatia known as Dalmatia, or Herzegovina, or the Montenegro region, which is probably most well know for the dogs that come from the region, Dalmatians.

Update 4/29/2013:

I will gladly admit that every single nation in the world will have its own share of giants but when we look at the percentage of people over a certain height limit and how frequent above average in height men (and possibly women) are coming out of the country, or at least being listed at local and national volleyball and basketball teams, it is rather hard not to see that Serbia and Croatia and the surrounding areas have been producing some extraordinarily tall people in the last 30-40 years. Many of them have gone on to become internationally famous athletes or entertainers.

This is my post/rant for today.

In the first product review post I ever did for this website, back in July of last year, I wrote about the most “popular” or infamous Internet Marketing E-Book in this niche for growing taller called “Grow Taller 4 Idiots”. The post was entitled “Product Review 1 – Grow Taller For Idiots“.

In that post I spent over 2 hours writing out a very long, detailed analysis on why it is CLEARLY a scam. These days when I am doing real research for the height increase endeavor, all I get are new webpages and links to the same product over and over again. it is very frustrating. No other niche on the internet, except maybe for penile enlargement or pheromones to attract the opposite sex, has there been more scams.

This niche or area of research we are  in is 95% fake. And the e-book “Grow Taller 4 Idiots” is causing probably 60% of all the bad links and webpages out there.

Just look at the name of the title of the book “Grow Taller 4 IDIOTS “. I want to focus on the last word of the title, idiots. The title itself for the book “grow taller 4 idiots” directly implies that this book which you might be hesitantly considering buying to try to make yourself taller says that you are an idiot and that this book will be perfect for you.

When a person calls you an idiot it says that they think you are stupid, out of touch with reality, not self aware, or they are just using a sharp negative label to describe you, usually to characterize your intellect, personality, or character traits.

The counter argument can be made by people that there is a similar label to idiots and that is “dummy” and that the For Dummies series in terms of educational or how to books have been super popular.

Let’s look at the other label used “Dummies”. It is absolutely true that the “For Dummies” books series has become extremely popular in the last 2 decades. I will admit that I first learned how to play chess, learn about marketing, and to play the guitar by reading a “For Dummies” book. I still think the book “Chess for Dummies” is one of the funniest, simplest, informative, and most down to earth, none technical intro books for chess there is.

However there is a slight difference between the label “dummy” and “idiot”.

Dummy – if a person calls you a dummy, they are implying that you are “dumb” , but your lack of smarts is more likely due to ignorance of the facts. If you just educated yourself more on the way things really worked, your ignorance can possibly go away and the label of “dummy” will be removed. People can call a person a dummy but they do it out of affection, slight humor at the expense of the person they are calling a dummy, in a joking way, but they don’t really want to hurt the person because they still might like the person.

Idiot – if a person calls you an idiot, the indication is that they are attacking you. Being called an idiot is implying often more than just that one is lacking more than just in intelligence and shows ignorance of one’s ignorance. One is not even aware that they are not aware. Being an idiot can not be cured by studying and educating oneself alone. One can be educated and quite “book smart” but still be a labeled an idiot because they make bad choices, act inappropriately, or behave in strange ways.

Plus, why would anyone ever put in a book title for a “how to manual” 4 Idiots?

They are saying that a person who gets the book is the idiot. They are calling a person stupid to their face, and if the person still can’t understand it then they may be too dense to get that they are being tricked and scammed. So does that mean that the “idiot” deserves to be duped, scammed, and robbed of their money?

Some people say they should be but I try to be kinder. This area of endeavor is filled with false advertisements and false promises. I ask the reader and anyone who ever decides to go on the internet to never buy a book which suggest that they are an idiot for deciding to purchase an E-Book.

The book “Grow Taller 4 Idiots” is intended for only idiots. I don’t think anyone is a real, legitimate idiot so no one should be spending their money to buy the book. Stay away from this scam and look for any other Height Increase or Grow Taller Book out there that at least doesn’t try to insult the intelligence and gullibility of the person who is thinking about buying it.

Many posts ago I had written in a very important post “A Real Alternative To Limb Lengthening Surgery – Epiphyseal Growth Plate Regeneration, Regrowth, Implantation, And Transplantation Is Completely Possible (Big Breakthrough!)” and the other post “China Military Hospital Research Clinics Have Already Engineered Functional Epiphyseal Growth Plates (Breakthrough)” to show that there is a very high possibility that the Chinese Military or Chinese Secret Research Facilities were most likely already researching the human genome and the genes that the nucleic acids form to see if they can produce taller human beings.

In a recent article I read, it seems that at least for the issue of intelligence, the Chinese government is actually trying to increase it proactively through genetic engineering by trying to breed babies with higher IQs. The article is “CHINA IS ENGINEERING GENIUS BABIES” which was found from the website VICE.com. As the article (and the interview questions states…

“At BGI Shenzhen, scientists have collected DNA samples from 2,000 of the world’s smartest people and are sequencing their entire genomes in an attempt to identify the alleles which determine human intelligence. Apparently they’re not far from finding them, and when they do, embryo screening will allow parents to pick their brightest zygote and potentially bump up every generation’s intelligence by five to 15 IQ points”

Could this whole process be repeated with other characteristics, like physical appearance?

Absolutely. In fact, almost any trait other than intelligence would be easier to do. We know that intelligence depends on lots of genes while physical traits—like hair or eye color—only depend on a few genes. Things like body shape would be easier to do, physical attractiveness would be pretty complicated, personality traits might be a little simpler than intelligence—how hard working somebody is, how impulsive, how politically liberal or conservative they are would be easier. How religious you are—that’s definitely influenced by genes to some degree.

Analysis & Implications For Height Increase

I think that we must finally as height increase researchers just fully accept what I think is the big elephant in the room right now. What we are trying to do, China is also already trying to do, if not for many decades now. At this point I am almost 95% certain that along with the trait of intelligence, China in its secret genetic researching clinics are looking at what exactly determines height and how to manipulate those genes to make the next generations taller and taller.

The relationship between the Chinese and how they view the human anthropomorphic trait of height has been sort of obsessive in many ways. When limb lengthening surgery was finally available to the general public for cosmetic reasons ie. to make people taller, the surgery was a huge success in China. Thousands of Chinese people swarmed to the few qualified (and many unqualified) orthopedic surgeons in China and around the world trying to push their height up for a variety of reasons.

The Chinese prize height. And so do most other cultures, ethnic groups, and nations throughout human history. However the modern Chinese nation and its people finally have the technical ability to change one of the only things they have not been able to. This was why the Chinese government formally made the surgical practice of limb lengthening at least for purely cosmetic reasons illegal back in 2006. They banned it because so many Chinese people were willing to go through with the painful process to get taller. Many bad surgeons or frauds began to open clinics and taking hopeful people’s money and doing bad jobs and cripplying people for life. The limb lengthening surgery that was making thousands of Chinese people taller every year had turned into a secret underground cultural obsession.

In the article about how the Chinese government are doing research to make super-smart babies just like what you would find in the movie Gattaca, what is sort of implied in the article is that the Chinese government is also actively searching for a way to make people, both children and maybe even adults taller.

The resources and financial capabilities of the Chinese government is at least a billion times greater than mine. What I have done is create the largest, most instructive, and most honest website on the internet for English based websites but I am almost positive that there are Chinese based websites which are doing exactly what we are doing in the English language and they are far further in the research than I will ever reach. It is possible that the Chinese government has already been able to develop something better to grow taller in adults than the distraction osteogenesis that is done by orthopaedic surgeons. At the very least, they have been able to do epiphyseal transplants to adult human beings and get it to work in vivo again in lab rabbits which means that human adults can start growing again. I would like to refer the reader to the study “Bioengineering and characterization of physeal transplant with physeal reconstruction potential.”

One thing that Geoffrey Miller, who wrote the evolutionary psychology book “Mating Intelligence” seems to get very accurately is the fact that the Chinese don’t really have more of a technical ability that other countries like the USA but the difference is that the Chinese don’t seem to have any ethical or moral reservation about the idea of using genetic engineering to make smarter human beings. Who would then can say that they would stop in not trying to make taller humans as well? The government, or military, or scientific research being done in top level universities like Tsinghua University or Beijing University is breaking ground but they are probably not going to reveal what they really know.

The Chinese are a very pragmatic group of people even from ancient times. Instead of focusing so much emotional energy on trying to reach heaven or get a better after life, the Chinese tend to try to make this current life much better and have a better quality of life. Ever since the atheistic Communist part lead by Chairman Mao many decades ago won the civil war for control over the larger piece of land which makes up the mainland of China, they have adopted a very pragmatic approach towards life. It is not wonder of the fact that almost all of the People’s Communist party of China consisted of men who engineering in the hard sciences and engineering. These leaders want real results in terms of the quality of life for their nation’s citizens. Anything that can be quantified or assessed through a test they will try to improve on it.
