What Does Victoria Beckham, Kim Kardashian, And Tila Tequila Have In Common? Below Average Height, Short Woman Are More Likely To Wear High Heels

This is one of those posts where I speak on an opinion of mine. It just seems to be a casual statement of a general observation. It seems that many girls I know who are below average in height are in general more likely to wear high heels than average sized or tall females. Sure, this might sound like the stupidest claim of all short of being called common sense but it is something that I did want to throw out there. I’d like to provide a few examples from my own personal life and a few examples I’ve seen with more famous people.

One of my sisters would consider herself on the short side being somewhere between 5′ 3″-5’4″. By USA standards, she really wouldn’t be classified as “short” but maybe slightly below average in height. And she has a huge obsession with always buying and wearing high heels, ones that are at least 4 inches. Almost all of her shoes are heels, and maybe 2-3 pairs are flats. For her Senior prom and other dances she was very adamant on wearing high heels even though there was probably dancing. An arguement developed between her and my mother because she had to alter the prom dress to add inches to cover up the extra length of the shoes. However that alteration lead to the dress being too long so a 2nd alteration had to be done to reduce the drag of the dress. Being a girl it took her many days to decide on a dress and that only resulted in more complications.  Since she was very opinionated on her need to wear those heels, my mother got frustrated in her enough to state something along the lines of “I’m sorry you ended up short but what can you do? Wearing high heels your entire life can’t cover that up” Maybe in 20 years my sister might need to go to a therapist to work out her height issues and also her mother issues.

Another example is a past girlfriend’s mother who was supposed to always be wearing high heels. Apparently she was very insecure about her height. I would have guess she was about 5′ 1″-5′ 2″ which for a 45-50 year old asian female is not that short. The first time I saw her I was surprised since she was taller than what I expected. It seemed like she was comfortable with wearing sneakers when exercising so maybe her height insecurities are not as severe as come other people. It seems that she just really cared about her appearance and would always wear heels at work and in the office.

Where I am now, in the city, in my location, there is a specific type of female I see at coffee shops and cosmetic stores who will always have high heels on. it doesn’t matter what type of weather is outside and how crazy slippery the ground is from ice and snow. They will always wear high heels at the risk of slipping and breaking their ankle. There is no compromise with these types of girls. I know these girls are coming so easily because their heels have a very loud and distinct clop or thump sound when they take a step. You can hear them coming even 30 feet away with headphones on. You can close your eyes and have a clear image of where all these girls are in your peripheral region. I am almost positive that a sizable portion/percentage of the females I see walk past me everyday on the city block and streets do have some form of height complex and insecurity. Or maybe it is just that they are too concerned about their appearance and what other people will think of them. It is a very appearance conscious country I am living in right now.

One celebrity I’ve heard who always wears her heels is Victoria Beckham. Her husband is the world famous futbol/soccer player David Beckham who used to play for the Galaxy. I’m not a big soccer fan but I do know most of their story and her heel obsession. Being a man who has an intense interest over the subject of height and height increase, my guess on why she is always wearing those shoes is that she has some bit of insecurity over her size. Her husband David is billed at 6 feet tall (1.83 meters) and her height from Celebheights.com is at 5′ 4.25″. I know from reading the celebheights heights before that the site has a reputation for often decreasing the real value of celebrities by an in or so for the most controversial profiles on the site so I would be willing to guess Victoria is probably 5′ 4.50″ and 5′ 5″ at her maximum but I could be short-changing her. Interestingly on the IMDB.com her height is listed at 5′ 6″. I might have to bump up her height to range between 5′ 4.50″-5′ 5.50″ which is just a slight increase. It seems she has a trademark to high heels and she suffers bunions from her dedication to them (source). In this article written about her from People Magazine they state “For instance, despite her slim frame and gorgeous looks, she’s still self-conscious about her height. “I’ve never been a six-foot-tall, skinny model [she is five feet four], so therefore I want to create an illusion,” she explains. “People always think I’m taller than I am — not just because of the shoes I wear but because of the way I dress. It’s all relatively streamlined.”” At this point I am not sure what is Victoria’s real height but it seems that my theory on why she always has to wear high heels is true. She is self conscious about her height. She did try to break into the fashion industry and she had difficulty because of her height.

The next celebrity I wanted to look at is socialite Kim Kardashian who has been famous for the reality show “Keeping Up With The Kardashians“. In recent years she had become even more famous because of multiple business pursuits like clothing lines and fragrances. It is well known that Kim is also a big wearer of the high heels. In most resources I have found she is listed at 5′ 2″ but she says she is 5′ 2.5” which I would guess is absolutely right. I don’t think a girl as attractive, successful and rich as her feels the need to overcompensate also for her height. By USA female standards she is below average in height and she could be described with the word “short”. There seems to be even a website dedicated to her height HERE. She is often wearing platform heels and high heeled stilettos. However it seems that overall, she might have a bette self image over her height than some other girls. There have been some pictures where you do see her in footwear with no heel height increases. It seems that Kim is just very conscious of her appearance and a girl’s height is part of her overall attractiveness. I’m going to guess that if she had a chance to add a couple inches while giving up her facial looks she wouldn’t take it. She uses the heels to make her looks be increased. She might be hesitant to take off her heels but if she has to, she will which shows that her self image is not that directly linked to her height and she probably doesn’t have a height complex like some females and men. We know that she was married to NBA player Kris Humphries who is listed at 6′ 9″ and they looked like a strange couple in pictures making some people to wonder how they even make it work when even the act of kissing seems really hard to do (source). If I was to play couch therapist I would say maybe she reason for trying to date Humphries was an unconscious way to compete with her tall sister Khloe who has a 6′ 10″ tall husband Lamar. It might have been Kim’s way to state indirectly that Khloe and her husband’s size will not intimidate her and that she can get a guy just as tall (well, maybe 1 inch shorter) as her sister. As with her other sister Kourtney, she is even shorter at 5′ 0″ and she seems to be just as adamant in always wearing high heels as Kim, if not even more. Overall, Kim Kardashian may also be wearing high heels so often because she is trying to overcome some form of insecurity, which may not be completely height based.

The last “celebrity” that I’ve noticed who seems to be using her use of high heels as a way to overcompensate not just for height but a height complex is Tila Tequila. This girl seemed to have gotten famous because she was once the profile who had the most “friends” on Myspace. In recent years I haven’t heard much about her except that she might have gone slightly crazy and have gotten in trouble with the law “Lindsay Lohan style“. I think I read somewhere that even her bodyguards couldn’t put up with the weird stuff she was getting herself into, and these are the type of people who are used to dealing with the weird stuff that celebrities do with their eccentricities. I don’t think I have ever seen a picture of Tila without some really high heels. In some ways I feel really sorry for her because she is very petite. Her height has been listed on IMDB as 4′ 11″ but I would suspect that a female that small in stature is probably pushing that value up more. She might be closer to 4′ 10″ than 4′ 11″ and it seems a few internet sources also says the same thing. Her last name Nguyen means she is Vietnamese in ethnicity and I have said before that the vietnamese are ethnicity one of the shortest groups of people. It is what it is and maybe in 30-40 years better living conditions in Vietnam with more protein for the younger generation will prove that the Vietnamese don’t have an ethnic propensity to be idiopathically short. I have already wrote in previous post that previously believed short nations like China and India have had their younger generation increase height by around 6-5 cm for the last 20 years. The dutch were the shortest groups of people more than a century ago and look at them now. Whatever it it Tila seems to have some complexes and psychopathological issues and one of them may stem from her small size. I know that she was dating a 6′ 4″ football player and this seems to be another classical case where a really small girl is trying to unconsciously overcompensate for her size by being with someone so much bigger. Maybe she thinks that he might be able to give her children which can kill her lineage of short genes and get his size genes passed on instead. But that is not a gene game I’d want to play. There are places like this post HERE that calls her a “midget”. In the end I don’t want to say anything bad about Tila because it seems she already is suffering.

As an after thought, there are some honorable mentions like Little Kim and Amanda Seyfried. They also seem to have a need to always bee seen in public with high heels. With Seyfried she might be more comfortable with her height.

Natural Height Growth Podcast, Episode 3: On The LSJL Device, Zixia Qigong Method, Lance Ward Review, And Biomedical Growth Research Initiative

For the 3rd Natural Height Growth episode I wanted to review some of the biggest issues that have been coming up in terms of projects or subjects that seems to consistently come up on emails and message that I get

I wanted to keep the length of time short and pack it with as much relevant content.

Episode #2: On The LSJL Device, Zixia Qigong Method, Lance Ward Review, And Biomedical Growth Research Initiative

In this episode I wanted to tackle 4 topics which I thought was the most interesting. There is first a few website operations stuff I wanted to take care of specifically the question about activating the forum, the monetizing of the website, and the frequency of putting up the podcast episodes.

The first subject was over the topic of the Biomedical Growth Research Initiative with Harald Oberlander at harald_oberlaender@hotmail.com I wanted to briefly talk about the organization which has been around and the funding they are looking for.

I give a look at the method of trying out Qigong which got popularized by Zixia on her blog. Then I also look at and give my opinion on Lance Ward.

The main focus was really the last topic where I talk about my continued effort in trying to figure out the logistics on how I get get the Lateral Synovial Joint Loading device built in a reasonable time frame. There are quite a few projects and things going on these days.

Due to the low volume of the music from the last two episodes, I have decided to switch the intro and ending music up for something that is slightly louder. The music that I decided to use for this episode, and probably subsequent episodes to come, is entitled” Air on the G String” performed by the US Air Force Band using the String Orchestra instruments and Symphonic Pieces form. The original composer is Johann Sebastian Bach from the Baroque period You can get the music Mp3 track at MuseOpen.Org which provides a source where you can download non-licensed, non copyrighted music which you can use for one’s purpose. The specific link is HERE.

Monetizing The Website And How It Affects The Readers And Me For The Future

After maybe 4 months of soul searching I’ve decided that I will go through and monetize the website in some ways because it doesn’t even make any common sense not to put in a few entries for cash flow. For the longest time I have been very adamant on not turning this website into a source of cash flow and steady income for me on my future projects but I now feel that I have been maybe too naive and innocent over this.

I’ve put in at least 1000 hours of work in turning this website into the most complete, best resource and ultimate guide for the subject of height and height increase on the internet space (at least for websites in English). It has real resources for almost anything that a person would need. I was listening to The Lifestyle Business Podcast and something just clicked inside of me earlier today and I decided to turn this website into something more professional, clean, and streamline.

The “Supplements Guide” section and the “Exercise Program Guide” both have Amazon Affiliate Links now, there are now at least a few “Donations” button scattered around the website on various posts which are linked to Paypal Accounts. I know that if I decide to integrate the Google Adsense service to this website I would start generating 10X as much in money as I would with just Affiliate Links. There is still no Ads, no fees, or products that I am pushing to the readers. Like I said on the message at the bottom of the website, I will NEVER endorse a product which I don’t truly believe in or have not done real research on.

As a reader, you will never be forced or required to ever pay for anything on this website. No one can tell someone else to buy something that they don’t want. Everything is free and the value that will be provided will only increased and get higher quality over time. If you as the reader chooses, you don’t have to use any of the affiliate links or donation buttons that are on this website. You can always choose an alternative resource to pay at.

I don’t consider myself a sellout but as a average, flawed human being at a deep level I feel a little selfish and would like to profit a little from this project. At least enough to pay for the website hosting fees, podcast episode hosting fees, and make some extra to pay for some bills and maybe even start to pay for a portion of the rent. But that type of “dream” won’t occur overnight but will probably take at least a year or two.

The audience to the website is getting bigger and I am now put under far more obligation and have more responsibility to the readers and future readers to only produce high quality posts from this point on. I have had even real Doctors approach me and write to the website email on how great and important this website is to them since there is finally a resource like this on the internet. There are more people everyday who write to the website email asking me to review articles and products they’ve found on the internet. I in turn have granted all of their request and done the best I could to give them what they really want.

As a business man who owns over 4 separate businesses and working on many other projects, I do think in terms of profit/loss and want to make sure that this venture over the long term is profitable for me. Of all of my businesses and projects, this one is the closest to my heart. It has been something I wanted to build for the longest time. All the other businesses, some which are in import/export, cosmetics, consulting, renting, and footwear were all started because of the money. This website was started for the impact, and in the long run I know that this website will probably grow to be the biggest and most impact ful of all of the businesses that I own.

At the end of the day, maybe 10-20 years from now I would wish 3 things for myself professionally.

  1. I have been able to give the world a real gift in some way making a big contribution.
  2. I would have gone back to school and gotten the advanced degree (Ph. D) in research and engineering.
  3. I would have reached financial freedom through proper investments, allocating my assets properly, generating multiple streams of income and cash flow, and build systems and businesses that are automated.

This website is a way I can help achieve two of those goals, reaching financial freedom and making a big contribution It also in a way helps prepare me for the course work and science material for graduate school as well.

Applying The Pareto Principle And Maximizing The Effectiveness Of The Posts

Something I learned early on during my past few years going through the self help and personal development phase was this idea of the Pareto Principle aka the 80/20 Rule. This was a principle that would come up over and over again in any community I got into, and it has to do with trying to optimize one’s effectiveness using the right amount of leverage in the right areas using the least amount of energy and effort.

What I am talking about it this. There is now over 650 posts on this website/blog. From the statistic analysis programs that are used to track the traffic and visitors of the website I can see that in terms of the numbers, a small percentage of the writing posts get most of the visitors, as well as comments. This is why I have decided to rewrite, edit, improve, and add upon 20-300 of the top visited and commented posts on this website. Now that is only about 3-5% of all the posts but that is where most people who are searching on Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines are getting to first when they arrive to the site and I do want to make the website an attractive place for visitors. First impressions do matter a tremendous amount, and this effort in making the most popular web posts even better will only help the website and the future readers later on.

For the current readers you will not be effected in any way since the changes are invisible for people who only read the most recent articles. I think this is a good investment of my time and a smart move to make the website better. So Work Smarter

Can Quercetin Really Help People Grow Taller And Increase Their Height After Reaching Adulthood?

That is a question I have wanted to answer ever since I read on Tyler’s blog that Quercetin can help increase height. After I put up the “Supplements Guide” section I got a comment where Tyler says that Lithium and Quercetin don’t act synergistically to help increase height since they seem to inhibit/ cancel out each other’s effects. Lithium seems to be for height increase for people before growth plate closure and quercetin is for people after growth plate closure. This is one of the only supplements that seems to have a chance of doing it so the research for this post much be as accurate and detailed as possible.

First, we see what good old Wikipedia has to say (source).

A few key points derived from Wikipedia…

It is “a flavonol, is a plant-derived flavonoid found in fruits, vegetables, leaves and grains. It also may be used as an ingredient in supplements, beverages or foods.” ( Flavoids are a class of plant organic compounds that are not directly involved in the normal growth, development, or reproduction of an organism)

It is a naturally-occurring polar auxin transport inhibitor. Polar auxin transport is the regulated transport of the plant hormone auxin in plants. It is an active process, the hormone is transported in cell-to-cell manner and one of the main features of the transport is its directionality (polarity). The polar auxin transport has coordinative function in plant development, the following spatial auxin distribution underpins most of plant growth responses to its environment and plant growth and developmental changes in general. Auxins are a class of plant hormones (or plant growth substances) with some morphogen-like characteristics. Auxins have a cardinal role in coordination of many growth and behavioral processes in the plant’s life cycle and are essential for plant body development. The (dynamic and environment responsive) pattern of auxin distribution within the plant is a key factor for plant growth, its reaction to its environment, and specifically for development of plant organs

Quercetin itself (aglycone quercetin), as opposed to quercetin glycosides, is not a normal dietary component.

Quercetin has neither been confirmed scientifically as a specific therapeutic for any condition nor been approved by any regulatory agency. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not approved any health claims for quercetin

Me: It seems that the rest of the Wikipedia article just report that Quercetain has been reputed to be able to help prevent or decreased risk of Cancer, inflammation, fibromyalgia and may also be antiviral. This news would suggest that it might even cause height inhibition. Most supplements and processes I’ve seen that can potentially help increase height also has been shown to possibly increase the risk of cancer because of its anabolic effects. So a quick look at wikipedia gives no indication that Quercetin has any chance of causing height increase.

So we must see what exactly would lead a researcher to claim this. Let’s see what HeightQuest has to about it. In a recent post entitled “Grow Taller With Sophorae Beans (Quercetin)” the idea is that quercetin has the ability to inhibit the beta-catenin. So far I have not been able to get to doing a full research on the Wnt/Beta-Catenin Pathway but let’s first assume that the pathway does cause the inhibition or the loss of ability for chondrogenesis (and possibly chondrocyte differentiation, chondrocyte proliferation, or chondrocyte hypertrophy in some way) If this compound which is sold as a supplement in most GNC stores can inhibit the pathway it should not be enough evidence that it would work in causing the chondrocytes to start being formed and differentiated. It would only stop any inhibition but sometimes an effect can be happening and there is already no or a limited amount of chondrogenesis to begin with. What you thought you stopped inhibiting was itself not inhibiting anything in the first place. Since this idea was for bones with no more growth plate ,we can assume that any bone marrow in the epiphysis where the load would be would probably not be creating much chondrocytes anyway. Who then can really say that it is the Wnt/Beta-Catenin pathway that is supressing chondrocytes from being spontaneously being formed at a dramatic rate if their effects on the inside of the epiphysis were inhibited in some way? Of course anything is possible and it has to be proven who really is right with some experimentation He states “Sophorae Beans, although this may be mostly due to Quercetin, increase TGF-Beta and IGF-1 levels.

From the University of Maryland Medical Center there is a page dedicated to Quercetin which seems to say many of the same things over like that it is an antioxidant and has possible anti-cancer forming properties. There is also a very small section in claiming it has anti-histamine properties, prevents the damage of bad cholesterol (LDL) , has beneficial effects on hypertension (high blood pressure), rheumatoid arthritis, and heart disease due to how it removes the blocking of blood flow in veins (atherosclerosis). There is even a study that shows that this compound may be better than even reservatrol in helping in prevention of cancer occurence.

As for the sources which contain naturally found quercetin, you find…

Dietary Sources:

Fruits and vegetables — particularly citrus fruits, apples, onions, parsley, sage, tea, and red wine — are the primary dietary sources of quercetin. Olive oil, grapes, dark cherries, and dark berries — such as blueberries, blackberries, and bilberries — are also high in flavonoids, including quercetin.

Available Forms:

Quercetin supplements are available as pills or capsules. They are often packaged with bromelain (an enzyme found in pineapple) because both are anti-inflammatories. Other flavonoid rich extracts include those from grape seed, bilberry, Ginkgo biloba, and green tea.

There are also water soluble forms of quercetin available, such as hesperidn-methyl-chalcone (HMC) or quercetin-chalcone.

From the section on cancer…

Scientists have long considered quercetin, and other flavonoids contained in fruits and vegetables important in cancer prevention. People who eat more fruits and vegetables tend to have lower risk of some types of cancer. And animal and test tube studies suggest that flavonoids do indeed have anti cancer properties.

As a last effort to see if there is any other connection to Quercetin supplementation and possible chondrogenesis, the only thing I found in search goes back to the article written on HeightQuest. The arguement was always that Quercetin as a flavanone has the ability to inhibit the Wnt/Beta-Catenin pathway which can lead to ectopic cartilage formation. Even he says that if the cartilage is formed in abnormal locations, they can aggregate together enough to form any type of micro growth plates. However, I do agree with Tyler on the idea of cycling supplements to get the sensitivity of the bone cells back if you plan to try using the LSJL method along with supplementation.

Since there is no connection between the ability of Quercetin to really cause chondrogenesis, I would say that Quercetin has no ability to lead to possible height increase after physical maturity. There are articles like “The antioxidants curcumin and quercetin inhibit inflammatory processes associated with arthritis.” which show that quercetin inhibits proliferation of cells who multiply due to inflammation. Other studies like “Quercetin attenuates warfarin-induced vascular calcification in vitro independently from Matrix Gla protein” shows that it has some cartilage to bone prevention abilities but nothing that says that it can actually cause or increase chondrocytes to form. Maybe during physically maturity, in its ability to act as an antioxidant and reduce inflammation, it can help prevent the stunting of growth from inflammation, but other than that, in my personal opinion from the research I’ve done, Quercetin would not be effective.

Further Analysis On The Mechanics And Implications Of The Lateral Synovial Joint Loading Device With Video

So over the last few months I have been subconsciously looking around the city to find any type of device that can operate on the same basic principle as the proposed Lateral Synovial Joint Loading device and the closest thing that seems to be these large massagers I’ve  found.

I got them uploaded to the Natural Height Growth Youtube Account (source) and I’ve embedded the video below. Like I said in the video, I’m having a little bit of trouble calculating what would be the proper Force and Frequency we should get on it because from only the few sources of devices out there, we might have to make compromises for frequency or loading.

The recommendation has been 5-15 Hertz which is actually 5-15 times the moving part of the device clamps down, retracts, and clamps down again.

Now below here is two videos from the Progressive Automations Youtube Account (source 1, source 2). You can see that with these large devices they are a lot slower, but have much larger force. The maximum force for at least this company based in Vancouver, CA is around 2000 lbs.

From the Progressive Automations website (source) . We have these types of specs….

Heavy-duty linear actuators are very powerful units with ability to push, pull and hold large amounts of force.  These actuators are ideal for use in industrial or commercial applications were large force and stability is required.  If you require this model to have a built-in potentiometer please call us to have it modified.  Heavy-duty actuators can be combined with PA-27 control boxes, rocker switches and mounting brackets.  The mounting brackets are specifically designed for our actuators and allow 180 degrees of rotation.  For more information on wiring the actuator to the rocker switch please view our wiring diagram.

Specifications:

  • Voltage: 12V dc Linear Actuator
  • Stroke Size: 2″
  • Load Capacity: 2000 lbs
  • Speed: 0.24”/sec (no load)
  • Type of duty: 20%
  • Operational temp: -25ºC~+65ºC
  • Protection class: IP65
  • Certification: CE
  • Built-in limit switches, not adjustable.

Me: I would recommend the stroke size of 2″ to make the complete device more compact but still giving some room for the variation in limb width. All of these devices work on DC Power so there is a AC to DC power converter we can buy. However, I think we can solve the DC issue from the 2nd video where you just strip the wire and connect it to a Integrated circuit board and make the device possibly move faster than it was designed (if that is even possible). Ultimately the problem is the speed or frequency. That can be solved with those large massagers in my videos but they don’t have the type of loading power that these real Actuators have.

In the 2nd video you can see that there is even control boxes you can buy which can simultaneously control the linear actuators but they are really slow in movement.
