The Hueter Volkmann Law Explained

From this perspective article entitled “Mechanical Effects on Skeletal Growth” we learn about a very important law that is extremely applicable to our endeavor since it sort of validate old wives tales and common sense. If you exercise or push too much axial load on your bones when you are still young and can grow, you can possibly stunt your growth and decrease what would be your final height. The Hueter-Volkmann ‘Law’ implies a continuous monotonic relationship between loading and growth modulation. From the article…

“The ‘Hueter-Volkmann Law’ proposes that growth is retarded by increased mechanical compression, and accelerated by reduced loading in comparison with normal values”

and…

“The gross effect of growth modulation has been demonstrated qualitatively and semi-quantitatively. Sustained compression of physiological magnitude inhibits growth by 40% or more.”

To validate this law…

The mechanical modulation of epiphyseal growth is often referred to as the ‘Hueter-Volkmann Law’. Mechanical modulation of longitudinal growth by compressive forces is the most widely recognized, but tension, torsion and bending are also reported as having an influence on the longitudinal, rotational and angular development. While growth responds to sustained load, bone remodeling responds primarily to transient loading 5 . Intuitively it would appear that if bone growth responded to transient forces, then active children would achieve different stature than their less active peers. However, recent data suggest that intermittent large compressive stresses do reduce endochondral growth in the rat forelimb.

There has been clinical studies where it was observed that the spinal longitudinal growth was more because the vertebrate was not loaded as much.

A similar concept has been proposed in the mechanism of scoliosis progression during growth. In the spine, Gooding and Neuhauser reported “tall vertebrae” in patients with paralysis and also in younger patients who had been treated surgically with posterior fusion of the spine. They argued that the relative unloading of the spine produced increased longitudinal growth, although this was contested by Taylor. McCall et al. similarly reported on 3 patients who had increased height of the vertebrae (and thinner discs) secondary to long-term immobilization in plaster for treatment of idiopathic scoliosis.

How To Buy Your Own Bone Morphogenetic Proteins From Invitrogen And Life Technologies

Me: It seems that I am finding many websites and company these days which supply the actual components and raw material needed to perform actual experiments to test animals or our bodies to see if they can work for height increase. I have found a company which can supply the chondrocyte needed to perform experiments dealing with growth plate regeneration, the BMPs and growth factors needed to inject into the chondrocyte mediums, and the Growth Hormones and peptides used in Gh therapy. This post is to show the reader where to actually buy the specific types of BMPs I have been talking about for so long. If we can get the right raw materials, we can get microscopes, adult mice or rabbits from the pet store, and do histological testing after injections to see what happened to the long bones under real controlled experiments. I do know that there are already many DIY (do it yourself) biology and genetics labs across the US and if we can put a little money in, we could rent out a small space of a biotech company to perform our experiments.

From the Invitrogen website HERE

Apparently there is this company Invitrogen or Life Technologies which sells at least the BMP-2, 4, 7, and the BMPR1A . Maybe they sell more. The section is the “Growth Factors, Chemokines & Cytokines” section.

I know that from Tyler’s website HeightQuest.com that he has adsense ads which direct you to the Invitrogen website. I have been here before since they also sell chondrocyte growth cultures and growth factors.

Injecting Chondrocytes Into The Physis From Physeal Distraction Of The Epiphysis

Me: The study seems to suggest that you can delay and prevent the closure of the physics (growth plate) if you can cause even the slightest of distraction in the epiphysis and inject even a little bit of chondrocyte the lengthening process can be extended leading to more height increase. This validates to a slight extent the idea of possibly putting a type of growth plate implant into the long limbs so that they can continue to or restart to lengthen again. However, the issue is that if you just use chondrocyte injections, the effect seems to only go towards the hypertrophic zone and the chondrocytes start to cluster which previous experiments have shown was not a good thing in the resting zone.

From the study “The purpose of this study was to determine if cultured chondrocytes could prevent premature closure of the physis after physeal distraction in a rabbit model.” The actual experiment was ” injection of cultured chondrocytes after epiphyseal distraction” . The conclusion was that “The zone of hypertrophic chondrocytes was enlarged. It appears that the injected cells differentiated into hypertrophic chondrocytes and delayed premature physeal closure. At 10 weeks after distraction of the physis, the width of the physis was restored to 75% of normal, but disordered chondrocyte growth with cell clustering was present in the cell-injected group.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine if cultured chondrocytes could prevent premature closure of the physis after physeal distraction in a rabbit model. Epiphyseal distraction at the proximal tibial epiphysis was performed in 24 immature rabbits. Chondrocytes were harvested from the iliac apophysis. The animals were divided into three groups: A, epiphyseal distraction alone; B, injection of phosphate buffered saline (PBS) after epiphyseal distraction; and C, injection of cultured chondrocytes after epiphyseal distraction. After epiphyseal separation was noted radiographically, each animal was evaluated at routine intervals. At 2 to 4 weeks, significant tibial lengthening as compared to the contralateral tibia was noted in all three groups. At 10 weeks, lengthening was apparent only in group C; in groups A and B, the operated tibia was shorter than the unoperated one. Histologic examination at 4 weeks revealed partial bony bridge formation with cell clustering in the fibrocartilaginous matrix in groups A and B. In group C, the matrix showed a typical hyaline aspect with cells organized in columns at the injection site. The zone of hypertrophic chondrocytes was enlarged.

The Relationship Between Periosteal Division And Compression Or Distraction Of The Growth Plate.

Me: The researchers in this study wanted to see what would be the effect on periosteal division if the growth plates are either distracted or compressed. Note that for 6 week old rabbits (still growing) which probably only weigh 2-3 kg with 1 kg of mass on both legs. This was done on the proximal tibial growth plate. What the researchers did was slice a piece of the periosteum layer off for about 1 cm on one half of the tibia. It seems that compression will inhibit the tibial growth and distraction enhance it, at least in the area where the compresion & distraction was done on. What is really strange is that the opposite effect is sense on the other end of the bone. As stated from the abstract “Periosteal division enhanced growth at the adjacent growth plate but inhibited it distally; the effect of distraction was enhanced and that of compression reduced.” remember that it is the proximal tibia we stripped on. What is important to note is that with these young, still growing rabbits, even small amounts of compression or distraction did affect bone growth. The periosteal division does seem to induce overgrowth by some type of mechanical effect but I am not sure how the process would even work. It is very interesting that the end of the abstract mention that this type of method of compressing and distraction certain areas of the long bones like the tibia can be using along with (or added as a side part) of certain types of  limb lengthening but not epiphyseolysis (why can’t it be used for epiphyseolysis I don’t know why??)

Abstract

We subjected the proximal tibial growth plates of six-week-old rabbits to either compression or distraction of 1 kg on both legs. On one side the proximal tibial periosteum was divided circumferentially and stripped for 1 cm. After six weeks, growth was measured at both proximal and distal growth plates. Compression inhibited total tibial growth and distraction enhanced it. The compressed growth plate grew less and the distracted growth plate grew more, but there was a reciprocal change at the other end of the bone. Periosteal division enhanced growth at the adjacent growth plate but inhibited it distally; the effect of distraction was enhanced and that of compression reduced. We found reciprocal growth rates at the proximal and distal growth plates. Relatively small amounts of compression or distraction did affect total bone growth. Periosteal division appeared to induce overgrowth at least partly by a mechanical effect; it may be useful as an adjunct to other methods of leg lengthening, though not to epiphyseolysis.

Natural Height Growth October 2012 – Monthly Website Traffic Data Report

Note: To see the report from last month, go to Natural Height Growth September 2012 – Monthly Website Traffic Data Report

So here are the results for the traffic that has been going through my website for the month of October. This will be a monthly thing to show the regular readers how this website has been developing and growing over time.

Overall, this month has seen a few changes with the website on how it is presented in terms of graphical layout. I have been trying more and more to focus on less quantity, and more quality in the posts. Some are quite informative and long. The number of emails I am getting these days and me daily email exchanges with people have gone up dramatically. Overall it has been a great and enlightening experience as they give me feedback on what they like and don’t like about the website. Then, I go back and work and edit the website to make it more user friendly for them. The number of people checking out the Facebook page and the likes have also been increasing.

I’ve added a few features, like a mailing list at the bottom of the page, thought about adding a forum, combined a few old sections which no one was looking at, and made a bigger effort to get the readers to the right direction. Also, I am going to try to apply and get a podcast going for the website to increase the audience.

So here is the report from Clicky below.

Analysis: What seems to have happened from the end of September to the end of October is that the total number of visitors have increased from around 4700/month to 9500/month. At the currently time the number for October is only less than 9100 but these days the number of visitors is actually around 400 total visitors/day. I am assuming and calculating to the end of the day. My highest number was yesterday at 452 which is extremely high. For september, the number was around 200 visitors per day so the traffic has increased by about 100% again. Obviously this trend of doubling each month is impossible to sustain in the long run. I am willing to calculate that the traffic will not be increasing much higher after November since the rate at which I am producing posts and articles has dropped dramatically as I have shifted my focus on working on my primary company and business.

As always, it is always important to realize that the numbers are NOT for an entire month which is usually 30 or 31 days but 28 days. Clicky does give me the option of looking at the traffic data of a month but I have to wait until the next month. I really just wanted to get this monthly report published quickly so I can move on in researching.

My Personal Money, $67 For Rafael To Pay For The E Product So He Will Get His Money Back And Not Be Scammed

I wrote in a previous post HERE that I would put my own money in to help a frequent reader named Rafael so that he will get his money back. Life is unfair and we all make mistakes. Sometimes we find ourselves on the short end of the stick and realize that other people have cheated us. That will happen and we learn from that.  Some people has they grow older just start believing that people are selfish and horrible and learn to distrust anyone who they don’t know. This often means they close themselves off from the possibilities and opportunities life gives us. Trust is a currency that makes relationships work in the world, as stated by the late Stephen Covey. I hope that with this gesture the trust that the readers of the website has for me is slightly higher.

And I have done just that as promised. At the bottom of the screen you can see proof that I have indeed put my money where my mouth is and have helped out another person who is looking for a legitimate way to gain height. I’ve said this before and I’ll repeat. This will be a one time thing, and I won’t do this again. I can’t help every person who comes to me and asks for help to get their money back because they fell for a scam or fraud. I am not Santa Claus.

These words are the comments he put in that previous post. You can see that he has good intentions and maybe the product really does work. It if does, then more power to him and the other people who got the E-Book.

Hello,

If you are referring to me in terms of the financial coverage, I will be sending you my bank info as soon as today. I have not been able to get a hold of the InstaHeight staff through their supposed support address.

Thanks for the coverage and I will personally let you know what my results shall be. I purchased the supplements I will be needing for the program and will prepare my diet accordingly.

I appreciate your help.

Thanks a million,

Rafael

Rafael Gonzalez       October 25, 2012 at 12:00 pm  (Edit)

Hello again,

For starters, I am to start the InstaHeight Super Massing routine in about one-two weeks’ time, once the workload has subsided. Michael has agreed to back me up with the e-book’s full price in case it doesn’t work ($67), and for this I am grateful. Thank you very much for believing in me Michael, and my intention, as I said before, is not to attack fellow commenters or the admin himself. However (even though it’s in my genes to be tall and could have a growth spurt any time at only 21 years old), I have a dream to be over 6 feet tall, and as Chris Gardner once said “….you have to protect it. You want something, go get it. Period”.

I will be informing people about the results once they are actually visible, and I’m not talking about 1-2 cm increases.

Does growth happen by chance or by willingness to go the extra mile? The latter possibility is 150% credible in my opinion. What’s yours?

——————

And these are the messages he has sent to me through email expressing his gratitude and thanks which has really touched my heart.

——————

Hello again,

I found the older version of the Instaheight book Volume 1. The Second Volume is the exact same one as the one I currently own. I think the info was stunning and it was this version of the book that convinced me that Instaheight was NOT a scam. My parents, who provided me with the funds for this book, also read the book and were convinced that it could be valid. I am certain myself that it’s not a BS book. I will respect your opinions 100%, but also remember the resilience I have against extreme cynics (which you do not seem to be).

Again, my sincere apologies but I am just sick of doctors, friends (who obviously make fun of the subject since they don’t really care about it), and even my parents  telling me things like “….it was just not meant to happen”. So in other words, only those who have teenage growth spurts that shoot them over and beyond the average are tall just because they are? I mean, I’ve been eating EXTREMELY healthy for pretty much my whole life. I see tons of tall kids in my college who eat lots of foods choc full of unhealthy fats and sweets. My roommate thinks I won’t make it to 6’1” (his height) and Instaheight will probably be the only hope I have left to actually make my height wishes come true, while I am still young.

Of course I am not trying to gain your sympathy just so you can write a positive review. I will appreciate every last bit of commentary, be it positive or negative, about the e-books.
Cheers and blessings,
 ——————————————

Hello,

I believe I set you the transfer info in another email. BoFa told me that the checking account number and the routing number was all I needed for domestic money wires.

I will write to the people on this site once the weekend arrives. However, I will note, in my commentary, that the purpose of placing the ebook on the site is not to stick it on a spike and poke fun at the fact that it’s another one of those scam books. I will personally try it out and left everyone know what my results will be (if I get any).

Thanks for the help.

Me: Lastly, this is a clipping of the screen which shows complete proof that I have transfer my money of $67 to another person who I barely know because I want to put a complete stop to the frauds and scams on the internet. For him this time, he got his money back. He told me in one of the emails that he has tried to get in contact with the services and people who sold the book and so far he has been unsuccessful.
